For ascertaining the tensile load that shall be taken up by the Passive Steel Anchor, Pull Out Test Service is conducted on the anchor. The Pull Out Test Service
is a relatively very simple and fast test. The equipment used for this test is a simple hollow hydraulic jack of requisite capacity. The hollow jack is lowered onto the anchor bar, grouted into place. A steel plate is welded or locked by mechanical means, on top of the anchor bar, just above the ram of the jack. Pressure calculations are made as to what is the maximum pressure that should be indicated on the pressure gauge for reaching the test load. The load is then divided into 4 equal parts and then the anchor is loaded in increments of the load interval. For each increment, the elongation or displacement of the bar is measured in mm and tabulated. On reaching the final load the ultimate elongation at test load is recorded and the pressure is released.
